How To Easily Root Sony Xperia S On Gingerbread

The Xperia S, with it’s 342ppi pixel density, a 12mp camera packed in a beautifully crafted body, and upgradable to Android 4.0 ICS, certainly deserves to be rooted and it isn’t surprising that the device got rooted pretty quickly. This comes in from XDA-Developers forum member Bin4ry, who has uploaded custom firmware images for Xperia S running the 63 firmware or the 67. Not exactly the most convenient and preferred method of rooting, but this is all that is available for now at least. The good thing about this root, is that you don’t really need to do much in terms of commands or moving around files.
All that needs to be done is to download the custom firmware and flash it to the Xperia S via fast boot. Still wondering why you should be rooting your device in the first place?
Disclaimer: Please attempt this guide at your own risk. AddictiveTips won’t be responsible in case your device gets bricked or damaged in any other way due to this method.
Requirements:
  • Unlocked bootloader on the Xperia S.
  • Fastboot installed. (If you have unlocked your device, you will have the fastboot package as well.)
  • Download image for 63 Firmware | For 67 firmware (1Gb Partition size).
Instructions:
  1. To begin, download the image for your firmware and copy it to the fastboot folder in the fastboot package you extracted while unlocking the bootloader on your device.
  2. That done, put your phone in fastboot mode and open command prompt.
  3. In command prompt, navigate to the location where you copied the image to, and enter the following command:
fastboot flash system system_xps_prerooted_63fw.img
All done! Reboot your device now, and upon reboot, you should have root access. For updates and queries, head over to the forum thread at XDA-Developers.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive SDK Arriving 3 Months After Game Launch

Valve’s Gabe Newell has announced that a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive SDK pack will be arriving 3 months after the launch of the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game which is currently in development.
Unfortunately at the present time no launch date has been announced for the new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game. But the new SDK which will be arriving a few months after it does finally arrive, will allow gamers to create their own maps and is currently being built by Valve veteran developer Mike Durand.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
As well as allowing you to create maps the new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive SDK will also include a few maps from Counter-Strike 1.6 that didn’t make it into Counter-Strike: Source, explained Newell.
“Hopefully, it’s gonna help consolidate the two communities, that everybody will look at it and say, ‘Okay, this is the version of Counter-Strike I’ve been waiting for,’ but we’ll see. We do think though that is what it gives them: an up-to-date, current, rich-content version of the game that they’ve been playing.”
As more information regards a release date materialises, we will as always keep you updated.

Last night the first showing of the new Max Payne 3 game commercial was shown during the Lakers v. Spurs game on ESPN. But don’t worry if you missed it, as its now available here to watch, and provides a good glimpse at what you can expect from the game when it officially launches on May 15th.
Max Payne 3
The new Max Payne 3 game sees the return of “bullet time” which made the series debut back in 2001 so different at the time compared to other shooters, and have now become synonymous with the Max Payne series of games.
The third in the series allows you to take control of Max as he battles to uncover the truth behind the kidnapping of his wife and returning her to safety. Rockstar also create a great video detailing the new bullet time effects in Max Payne 3 which you can view here.

Both new Sony’s music systems are also equipped with a CD player, and the CMT-V50iP allows you to play music via MP3 players and USB drives, but does not have Bluetooth support. Naoto Yoshioka, Product Manager of Home Audio Video Business at Sony Europe explains:
“paired iconic design with exceptional audio quality. These Hi-Fi systems not only offer exceptional depth and clarity of sound, they’re also elegant, beautiful objects in their own right. And with a range of intelligent features built in – for example, very few rival systems feature a dock that is iPad compatible – they’re the perfect blend of style and substance, form and function.”
Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but they are expected to arrive in UK stores sometime during June 2012.

The video series was created by the user Salih Emin, his personal blog and shows us by example, because he believes that iOS lags behind the Android. We publish here the first part (lasting 13 minutes) of video to start the conversation, but you can click to the source to see it all. However, we emphasize that it remains a personal opinion of that user and not-natural-absolute truth. Besides, in our humble opinion, it is futile to try to technology to find the best, all proposals are judged according to how satisfying the needs of each user.
