Samsung Announces New 512GB SSD With 6GBb/s Interface


Samsung has announced a new range of solid state drive (SSD), which support the SATA 3.0 interface and come with data transfer speeds of up to 6GB/s, and the new SSD’s will come in capacities up to 512GB.
These new SSD’s are designed to be used in notebooks and tablets, so we can expect to see them in some of the upcoming devices over the next few months.

According to Samsung these new Solid State Drives with 6GB/s support reduces the boot time on notebooks by about ten seconds and doubles the performance with read speeds of around 500MB/s and write speeds of around 350MB/s.

Investors Want Nintendo To Release Games For iPhone And Android


Nintendo’s latest handheld gaming console hasn’t exactly been a hit with gaming fans, Nintendo recently dropped the price of the console in an attempt to boost sales, but it would appear that this isn’t enough to keep investors in the company happy.
Investors in Nintendo want the company to start developing games for other platforms, which would include Apple’s iOS platform and Google’s Android platform.

Both platforms are becoming increasingly popular for gaming and many gamers are using their smartphones and tablets instead of dedicated handheld gaming consoles.
Nintendo could generate massive additional revenues by releasing games for Google’s Android OS and Apple’s iOS, but the companies CEO has said that this won’t happen whilst he is in charge.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations Multiplayer Beta Launching Exclusively On PS3 Consoles


As of next month if you are lucky enough to own a PlayStation 3 you will be able to enjoy a sneak Beta preview of the new Assassin’s Creed Revelations Multiplayer game. The exclusive Beta will be available to PlayStation Plus and Uplay members and will be available between September 3-8th, after which it will then be opened up to all PS3 owners for Beta testing.

The beta version of Assassin’s Creed Revelations Multiplayer will feature nine characters :The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion.
It will be playable across three maps the Knight’s Hospital, Antioch and Constantinople, via four different playable modes Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault. Eight abilities are available in the Beta, but only some of them are usable from the outset. Others must be unlocked by increasing your rank.
At the moment there has been no mention of  Beta treats for Xbox or PC gamers.  Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will be released on November 15 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

GameFly Introducing “Unlimited PC Play” Download Service


GameFly who acquired IGN’s Direct2Drive platform just over two months ago has today announced that it will soon be launching a new ”Unlimited PC Play” download service. The new service has been created to enable subscribers to download and enjoy access to over 100 games that are supported on both PC and Mac systems.
GameFly is hoping to Launch a closed beta for the client on September 8 during a Los Angeles event, where attendees will receive a beta code for themselves and a friend. But don’t worry if you don’t live in the LA area as you can still sign-up by jumping over to the GameFly Beta website.

In an interview with Joystiq, GameFly co-founder Sean Spector explained:
“We’re talking to all publishers about participating. Several have been signed, but we’re not announcing at this time,” - ”In the ‘Unlimited PC Play’ portion for GameFly subscribers, we expect to have over a hundred titles available for the beta launch, but we’ll be adding to the list constantly and should have hundreds at the time of our holiday launch.”

The Spire Boat will be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in September, and it looks like the company behind this crazy looking speedboat have already received some orders for the Spire Boat.

PixelInvaders, Open Source LED Matrix Project (Video)


We just got an email from Michael Vogt from PixelInvaders to let us know about his new project, PixelInvaders, which is an open source hardware project for artists, and it is made from 3D RGB LED panels.
The PixelInvaders is capable of playing back real time generated video animations, the video below shows it in action, and multiple panels can be connected together to make larger displays.

Michael has also developed some software called PixelController which can generate the video animations in real time, and the animations can even be synchronized with music.

Apple Patent Reveals Plans For Projectors In iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch


We have been hearing rumors for a while now that Apple is working to integrate projectors into future iOS devices, and now Patently Apple has discovered a new Apple patent which give us an idea of how Apple plans to integrate projectors in future iOS smartphones and tablets.
The new patent applications was published by the US patent Trademark office today, and it shows that Apple is also looking to produce a projector accessory for its MacBook range as well as integrating projectors into iOS devices.
